Literacy Forum Sponsorship Opportunities

The National Literacy Association Campaign for Reading Conference:  THE FUTURE OF READING

Friday 5 March 2010, 10.00am to 3.30pm – drinks reception at 4.30pm

The Future of Reading Forunm organized by The Education Show and The National Literacy Association with a programme focusing on reading. One outcome of the forum will be a campaign manifesto from the NLA to influence perception of reading in education at a time of change in literacy teaching. 

Drivers: Ofsted research showing lack of reading past Year 7, the changing nature of school libraries, schools library services in decline, the closure of public libraries, Rose review changing the nature of the curriculum to create an education system for the 21st century, changing of assessment system at all levels, concerns over literacy levels at all stages, changes in focus from traditional publishing to ICT solutions for reading, declining publishing sales

Audience: 180 school leaders, teachers, literacy consultants, teaching assistants, librarians, publishers – all sectors concerned with reading, literacy and publishing reading material for children and young people.
