iTunes U |
 |
| Description |
 |
As you know, more and more people are getting information from digital content on the web. Apple is leading this transition in education by providing a distribution channel for a wealth of free academic content. I’m sure many of you have visited the iTunes store to purchase music or movies. But what you might not know is that you can also access a large collection of free educational content, right in the iTunes store in the area called iTunes U.
iTunes U launched schools academic content from state departments of Education, such as Learning and Teaching Scotland, with more to come. iTunes U also provides a vast amount of content from over 130 leading universities and colleges in the world such as Stanford, Oxford, Cambridge and MIT. Much of this higher education content is very beneficial for schools educators and students.
The Beyond Campus section of iTunes U includes professionally created content from more than 200 providers such as Teachers TV, as well as from museums, such as the Tate, the Chateau de Versailles, the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art), and many more. Again, all of this content is free. |

Mobile Learning Solution |
 |
| Description |
 |
We all know mobile learning is reshaping the educational experience. Learning no longer happens only at a desk. Apple makes it easy for your students and teachers to work and collaborate no matter where they are.
One direction that many schools are moving towards in addition to notebook computers, is using mobile devices, such as the iPod, to give students anytime access to rich educational content, allowing them to easily extend learning beyond the classroom.
With mobile devices like iPod touch that have Wi-Fi built
in, students have full access to the Internet. With the Safari web browser and access to a wireless network, they can access websites to research curriculum topics.
Email on iPod touch looks and works just like email on your computer. iPod touch supports rich HTML email, so images and photos appear alongside text.
There are also thousands of applications available for iPod touch on the App store. Many of these are education focused and many are free. |
